    Before the course, I was following a Bachelor’s Degree of Education in Nutrition, Family and Consumer Studies at the University of Malta. I realised the course was not for me and dropped out. Among other summer jobs, I have worked as a clerk at ETC and as a group animator at SkolaSajf.

    I took the Level 4 Diploma in Computing because…

    I have enjoyed computing from a very young age and felt that this year was the right time to make a change in my career path. I decided to enrol in the course in order to obtain the necessary fundamental skills and knowledge in the different fields of computing, allowing me to choose the most suitable area in which to further my studies.

    I chose this particular course because…

    Due to the continuous growth of the computer industry, I felt that a course in computing would provide me with a lot of career opportunities. The course offered by STC covers a wide variety of areas in computing, ensuring a solid foundation in the subject.

    The Diploma course is helping me…

    ..in giving me the necessary knowledge and skills needed in order to be able to further my studies, giving me direct entry to a BSc degree offered by Middlesex University Malta, which will eventually lead to a satisfying career.

    My lecturers…

    … are very knowledgeable in the subjects they teach. I love that they share their experiences in the industry which actually helps us gain knowledge both for our personal life as well as for a future career. The lecturers are young and up-to-date with the latest information in the computing sector and follow a student-centred  approach. Together with the STC staff, they are very encouraging, helpful and dedicated to their work.

    The best part of the course…

    … is that it covers a wide variety of areas in Computing including: software development, web design, networking, computer systems and databases. This gives me a good overview of each subject, and allows me to explore the different directions I can go into the future.

    The facilities at STC…

    The labs and lecture rooms are very well-maintained and well-equipped. Moreover, the canteen is always open during lecture hours, allowing us to meet and enjoy the break in a comfortable environment.

    STC is great because….

    It is very student-centered, providing the necessary knowledge, skills, support and guidance to students who are willing to learn, through the wide range of specialised courses offered on a full-time and part-time basis.

    After I complete my course…

    I plan to further my studies in one of the degrees offered by Middlesex University.

    I would recommend this course…

    …to anyone who loves computing or wishes to try something different in order to make a career change, regardless of their level of knowledge and experience on the subject.

    My recommendation to someone who feels stuck with their education….

    It is never too late to continue studying or to make a change in your career path. Taking up an interesting course, such as this one, will open up a lot of work and study opportunities, all leading to a satisfying career.
