What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?   

I enrolled with STC back in September 2019 on a part-time basis with the ambition of creating a career path for myself in business. 
During my time at STC I experienced myself grow in an environment that gave me full support not only in my education but even in achieving my personal goals.  

 

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?    

In the time I spent doing my Business Diploma, STC helped push me to my fullest potential in developing my own skills and ideas. This provided the right amount of credibility for me which in turn created opportunities for my career.

STC’s Diploma is flexible, in that students can work full-time whilst attending evening lecturers twice weekly over a period of two years. I’m now proud to say that I work as a Customer Support Executive for one of the leading insurance companies on our island, GasanMamo Insurance. 

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?  

In 5 years’ time I aim to be a successful entrepreneur travelling and working around the world.  

What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

I attended my course at STC in 2020 and it’s with excitement that I can say that I’m currently studying the business course I have always aimed for. STC helped me develop new skills such as critical thinking, analytical thinking and also how to collaborate in teams. Furthermore, STC helped me to better understand what career in the business environment I really wanted by going through a variety of different subjects during the first year of the business degree.

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?
I highly recommend the courses STC offers as you would get individual attention, constant support from both lecturers and staff members, and they’ll also provide you with all the necessary academic materials needed for the course.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In 5 years’ time I hope to continue my studies by pursuing a masters in digital marketing abroad and eventually find a job within the industry that satisfies and excites me.

What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

I started my Diploma in Business with STC in 2019 and I am grateful to say that it has not only helped me thrive in my professional life and career but has even prepared me on a personal level for the future. I am currently working in the area of Business operations, specifically in the Payments department specializing in Risk, Fraud, AML and CFT. For the past two years, I moved from an international and well-known iGaming company to a start-up cryptocurrency firm as a Risk Manager and currently I work at another global iGaming company as a Payments and Risk analyst with the potential of being promoted to a leading position. My time at STC has helped me build my CV and allowed me to develop my experience, and at the same time I had the opportunity to put all the knowledge gained into practice.

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?

I would recommend STC to any student that wishes to receive a high-quality education with specialized and personalized treatment while pursuing a pathway in Computing and Business. This is all thanks to the amazing team behind STC from the administration to lectures and the rest of students, it always felt like a family.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

In 5 years’ time I hope to specialize my business knowledge even further by pursuing a master’s degree in Fraud and Financial Crime and/or Responsible Business, while being in a C-Level role and entrepreneur.

I have 10 ‘O’ levels and studied Marketing, Maltese and Home Economics at ‘A’ Level, together with five intermediate subjects. During my studies, I worked in sales.

I took the Level 4 Diploma in Business because…

I want to pursue a career in business. My eye is set on the degree in International Business administration conferred by Middlesex University Malta, and I had heard positive things about STC. I checked it out, and knew this was my next step.

I chose this particular course because…

I want the opportunity to work with and contribute to different companies across different fields. I wanted a skillset I can use in my life within and outside of my career.

The diploma course is helping me…

…be more open-minded in life, explore different fields, and most importantly – to take risks.

My lecturers

STC has the best lecturers. I have never had lecturers who are so keen on ensuring students understand the subjects. When I don’t understand, I feel comfortable enough to ask without hesitation. This has been an obstacle for me in the past, and it has definitely helped a lot.

The best part of the course

The course is structured well and in such a way as to give you the appropriate amount of time to work on assignments and study. The result? The opportunity to get As – which I am gunning for.

On the facilities at STC

The best facility for me is the library. It is so peaceful and quiet. I do most of my studying in the library. I also like that the canteen is always open, lecture rooms are all well equipped and the air-conditioning is available for cold and warm seasons of the year.

STC is great because…

The second you step inside the campus facilities, the level of investment and attention to detail is the first thing that strikes you. In this area, STC has distinguished itself.

After I complete my course…

…I will move on to the second year which leads to the degree I wish to obtain: the Level 5 Diploma in Business. On completion of this I will gain direct entry to the BA(Hons) International Business Administration Degree conferred by Middlesex University Malta.

My ideal job

I aspire to become an administrative manager, an advertising manager, or a branch manager.

My recommendation to someone who feels stuck with their education…

I would recommend this course because it helps you approach academia from a different angle – at STC, students become scholars, and lecturers become mentors.
