What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

Since leaving STC, I started a software development company called Jett Labs. Other than the excellent technical course material, my time at STC helped me to develop my critical thinking and project management skills to allow me to tackle bigger and bigger challenges.

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?

Absolutely. STC allowed me to spend time around many well known professionals in the industry and gather countless pieces of insight and wisdom which have helped me develop my mindset. I have no doubt that STC has helped and will continue to help me achieve the goals I have set for my career.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

My goal over the next few years is to continue to grow my company and provide high quality services to the Maltese market.

What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

Since the late 90’s I have always been amazed by computer technology. I used to experiment with my home computer and I learned a lot from trial and error. However, for each time I failed my father had to call the technician who would come home to fix the computer. I remember keeping and an eye on what the technician was doing and taking notes. At the time I didn’t have the opportunity to study computing at school.

In 2018, at the age of 34 years I decided to read for a Diploma in Computing with STC. Returning to school after sixteen years wasn’t easy knowing that I had to juggle between my family, a full-time job and evening classes.

Thankfully STC offered their full support and I am grateful for their commitment towards their students. They turned my two-year journey into an amazing experience.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I have chosen STC again for my studies and hopefully in the next couple of years I will obtain a Degree Computer Science as well.

 

 

What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

I had joined STC Higher Education at the start of 2019 where I started the Level 4 Diploma in Computing which I have now completed some time ago. Currently, I am going through my Advanced Diploma Level 5 in Computing (Cybersecurity).
I currently work as an ICT Support Assistant within the Maltese Public Service which is the first scale you can get in the ICT industry within the Public Service. Thanks to STC Higher Education I have completed my first steps towards helping me go up the ladder towards the next step in the field, an ICT Support Officer. With the help of STC, I have a chance to even go beyond that!

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?
From my personal experiences during the past two years and counting, I have always recommended STC to my fellow colleagues and friends who wanted to get a chance to achieve their goals when it came to getting qualifications and a better career. I have found the system and the administration quite helpful and supportive throughout this journey. Further to that, the material that we are provided with as students is more than enough and sufficient to undergo any assignment or exam, including access to an online library which I have found very useful in the past. The staff and administration have been there for me through all the tough times I have endured, especially during the pandemic. I have not only found guidance but I also always found a person to talk to and listen whenever I was in need. To that end, I thank them every day. STC gave me the confidence to grow both as a person and in my career, which was always something that worried me.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
With their help in the next five year I see myself going into a higher grade within the Public Service such as a Systems Administrator or even a job within the private sector working in the field of Cybersecurity. I would like to thank STC Higher Education for the continuous support that I have been and still being given and the chances in improving myself throughout!

 

What are you studying/doing for your career at the moment and how do you feel your time at STC helped you get to where you are now?

I pursued a Diploma in Computing with STC in 2020 and I am working at a local bank. I had a very valuable time with STC because the course gave me the ability to enhance my object-oriented skills along with general IT techniques that is taking my experience at my job to another level.

Would you recommend STC to students considering a career in computing and business, if yes, why?

STC also caters very well and flexibly to working students who are already working within an industry. The Modules in STC’s courses are well advanced and very relevant to today’s industries, which has allowed me to feel that having a career in Computing and Business will lead to a bright future at no great expense.

What position do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

My goal in 5 years-time is to have successfully finished the bachelor’s degree with STC institute and to be working as a programmer.
